Os seus estudos (2002-2006) foram realizados no Centro de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o Borstel\/Leibniz Lung Center (DE), na \u00e1rea de diagn\u00f3stico biomolecular para doen\u00e7as transmitidas por carrapatos. Ap\u00f3s um p\u00f3s-doutoramento na Unidade de Tecnologia de C\u00e9lulas Animais do IBET, Oeiras (PT) com foco em Engenharia de Tecidos e modelos hep\u00e1ticos 3D, em 2009 obteve uma bolsa individual FCT Ci\u00eancia2008 e transitou para o iMed\/Faculdade de Farm\u00e1cia da Universidade de Lisboa (FFUL ), para trabalhar com modelos avan\u00e7ados de f\u00edgado para toxicologia in vitro. <br>Em 2015, recebeu uma bolsa de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o da FCT (IF2015) para prosseguir os seus interesses em modelos 3D, biologia de c\u00e9lulas estaminais para toxicologia preditiva e medicina regenerativa. Em 2018 tornou-se professora auxiliar da FFUL e em 2021 estabeleceu o seu laborat\u00f3rio no iMed. Joana \u00e9 tamb\u00e9m vogal da Sociedade Portuguesa de C\u00e9lulas Estaminais e Terapia Celular (SPCE-TC), \u00e9 Co-coordenadora Nacional do European Registered Toxicologist desde 2017  e coordenadora da sec\u00e7\u00e3o de toxicologia da Sociedade Portuguesa de Farmacologia (SPF) at\u00e9 2019.<br>(Group Leader, iMed.ULisboa, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universidade de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal)<br><br>1-Porque a escolha deste especializa\u00e7ao?<br>2-Houve obstaculos \u00e0 esta escolha?<br>3-Teve dificuldades em tanto que mulher no seu percurso  ?
